Abstract:
The model of biological history defines cultures as super-organisms, with 2 fundamental elements:
- A genetic=memetic structure, which in society allows the reproduction of the culture generation after generation through memes, either objects (weapons,machines, money, tools) that provide energy and information to the superorganism, or ideologies, neural memes, reproduced also through objects (books, laws, audiovisual machines) .
- And a class structure, proper of all systems of the Universe made of energy and information which are complementary, one cellular class of information (particle or head in physical and biological organisms, ruling castes in societies, which invent the law and money that controls the society, as languages of information) and an energetic, reproductive class (field of force in physics, body in biology, working class in societies).
Yet while all societies are organic and deploy both, a memetic=genetic structure and a dual, complementary information/energy social class, there are efficient organisms in which the information class is controlled by pain messages from the body and always provides enough energy and informationto the body cells to allow its survival. This is not the case of the organisms of modern history, due to the corruption of the proper, efficient societies (social democracies, religions of love) by the selfish memes of economic organisms (corporations). If in the parallel post to this one, we study the global corporation and its company-mothers from the perspective of the science of complexity, as an entity in itself that evolves machines into a global super-organism, in this post we shall study the human=historic point of view on the corporation by considering a historical analysis of the selfish memes and dysfunctional culture that gave birth to the corporation, allowing the inhuman treatment of this institution that today rules with its monopoly on the two languages of power of society, money that it invents in a monopolistic manner and the law that it buys through corrupted politicos… Since indeed, while in the other post it becomes obvious that the global stock market corporation and its company-mothers are now global and independent of any culture, following its natural arrow of evolution, embedded in the mathematical laws of economics, what we call the economical science and the corporation is merely the translation to complex mathematical languages and economical systems of the memes of a certain millenarian culture that acted as the ‘soliton’ of trade and banking for most part of history.
I. THE SCIENCE OF BIOLOGICAL HISTORY
The difference between tribal myths, data and a science of history.
There are 3 degrees in the evolution of History as a science: the pre-scientific age of tribal myths, which lasted in all sciences till the Greeks; the proto-science of history, which gathers data with the tools of the scientific method and explains such data ‘as it is’, which started with the Greeks (Xenophont) till the end of the Middle Ages and finally the scientific models and theories, which tried to interpret history data as a series of cyclical patterns that will be repeated in the future, since all sciences are deemed as such when we find a cyclical model whose repetitions allow us to forecast the future with certain accuracy. This final attempt to create a science of History started with the work of Ibn Khaldun, an Al-Andalusian historian and Vico, an Italian Lawyer and was carried further in increasing steps of sophistication by Marx, Toynbee and Spengler at the beginning of the XX century.
In this web we propose a model of biological history. Since we believe history is indeed a science, belonging to the realm of biology, and its 3 fundamental concepts are equivalent to the 3 fundamental concepts of biology – the existence of genes=memes, which carry from generation to generation the form, the information of individual organisms and cultural organisms; the existence of those, cultural superorganisms, whose structure is self-similar to that of living organisms with two types of cells/structures, the informative, neuron cells who form the brain ‘on top’ and control the energetic and reproductive=working cells of the body=society; and the existence of an ‘alien super-organism’ made of ‘metal memes’, energetic weapons, informative money and organic machines, which is substituting the living Earth by a world of machines reproduced by ‘company-mothers’, the economic ecosystem. So the relationship between the tree of life and the tree of metal is both symbiotic and destructive, as the real competence in history is between life and the most perfect form of metal, weapons, which we evolve and kill us, (parable of the tree of science). This duality has therefore always been explained by prophets of love and historians of the future, scientists of history.
This veritable science of history, based on those 3 biological concepts, whose more clear antecedents are Khaldun, Marx, Vico and Spengler seemed to flourish again in the 70s thanks to the work of Dawkins, who coined the concept of memes and Wilson, who first applied the concept of a society as a superorganism. Yet the theory was not properly developed due to the censorship against the science of history proper of the Anglo-Saxons tradition dominated by two opposite type of memes, those of money and biblical thought, which sell us an individual ego-centered account of history and the belief of a manifest destiny for the Jewish-Protestant, globalized capitalist culture inspired by those memes.
Thus, it was the task of this writer back in the 90s in continental Europe, where those memes no longer influence scholars, to complete the model without ‘fear’ . Since the mere collection of historic data is NOT SCIENCE, as the recollection of data by Tycho Brahe was not the foundation of the astronomical science, but merely a previous state. it was only when Kepler put the data of his master into simple, clear cut, repetitive cyclical laws that astronomy appeared. And it was only with the work of those pioneers of cyclical history who explained since Vico and Ibn Khaldun the recurrent patterns of wars that destroy civilization, that the concept of a science of History able to forecast the cycles of the future according to the patterns of the past, became possible. This web simply takes all those concepts to its ultimate consequence, adding to them my discoveries in the field of fractal mathematics and Theory of superorganisms, which made possible to complete their models, within the larger analysis of the science of Complexity of which I am one of its founding fathers.
But all sciences have a practical purpose in the improvement of human life and this is specially the case of History and economics, the sciences of mankind and the machines we build and co-exist with us in this planet. We do not learn chemistry just to contemplate the beauty of benzene rings but to make useful things. And so no science of history and economics must be theoretical but also ethical, meaning a science which is used to improve the welfare of all human beings.
And yet, any organic model of the science of history and economics is censored and rejected, because it challenges the ‘myths of power’ which build the realpolitiks of our nations. So instead, what we have is the acquisition of data in the most uncompromising possible form, with the best possiblemachines but without any organic models – the only ones that have shown predictive powers since the Marxist scholar Kondratieff developed its cycles, which we corrected with fractal equations to foresee the present economical and political crisis 2 decades in advance…
And of course without ethical judgment, which would oblige to reform the systems of power and build from the scratch a scientific efficient super-organism with a nervous/legal system and a blood/reproductive/economical system that caters to ALL the cells of the Human species….
This is the bottom line that not historian has ever been able to scratch: we don’t live as Mr. Churchill put it in the best of possible systems, but in one of the worst, in which an elite of financial bankers have monopoly of creation of the language of information that control the economy, money, in unlimited quantities, which the rest of the population must earn in minuscule ones, despite not being elected and an elite of politicos have no responsibility or penalties when they change their programs, become corrupted and betray the people that voted them.
Indeed, all organisms have an informative caste of neurons, or head, that guides an energetic caste of body cells. But the body cells control with pain the brain when it doesn’t feed it, and the brain ad maximal gets 10 times more energy/money than the body. In our ‘social organisms’, the ‘cells of the blood/economical/financial system’ have it all, has no responsibility or pain messages and lets many of the body cells die,unable to provide the minimal ‘blood/energy’ needed to survive. They just share wealth with the ‘nervous/verbal/legal/political’ cells, which lie systematically, cannot feel pain, but on the contrary penalize the body cells of workers/citizens and even murder them in self-suicidal wars between ‘parts of the human species’, the national tribes, primitive units of mankind that never came together into a single ‘humanity’.
And yet, because the privileges of the castes of bankers and politicians/military dictators that control the economy and political system of those tribal nations are so exorbitant, they will never renounce to them.Instead their privileges must be hidden by making social sciences totally irrelevant and ignored to the people, which are provided all kind of placebo lies and statistics, messages of happiness and audiovisual hypnotism - noise in military jargon – to keep a bewildered herd of body-cells=citizens always ready to accept the sacrifices demanded by the informative castes. And the key to that control is ignorance and ego-centrism that fosters confrontation between parts of the Human species, which make necessary weapons and self-destructive wars. This ignorance of course as in all system affects also those who control history. Today almost nobody knows that democracies appeared in Holland, as secondary system to that of VOC the first company of gunboats and slaves, whose shareholders controlled the parliament they ‘invented’ in which only wealthy shareholders or aristocrats could vote. There was in fact a single party, the orange party, which split in two when the system was exported to Great Britain by the dutch king and his merchants, to adapt the political system to the economical cycle: when there was crisis in the sale of British products, the Tories prone to war took power and the state bought the gunboats for war; when there was higher sales the moderate Whigs took over. The same system of two parties ran by money of corporations, one prone to war, the GOP and one prone to trade, democrats, was exported to the US, where the business of America (not the people of America) is the politics of America. Yet all this is not known since of course, it would cast light on why democracies are in fact ‘stockracies’, modern ari-stockracies ruled not by weapons but by money, which buys and produces weapons in the modern, complex world of corporations and sophisticated machines=arms.
So History is plainly censored and economics is purposely isolated from history and pretentiously considered a ‘mathematical science’ instead of a biological, social one since it affects the life of humanity.
And the result is that there is no real science of history and economics – even the possibility of its existence is denied by power.
This is the political and economic ’reality’ of an informative caste of politicos, bankers and military that has never wanted to make of History the fundamental science of the species to maintain its power and instead still lives and promotes… tribal history.
Tribal History.
In that sense, History as a science is a different proposition to what most people believe is history, indoctrinated by the emotional accounts handled by Television - the individual account of tribal facts, personal deeds and anthropomorphic myths about man as the supreme species of the Universe with a manifest, rosy destiny, fulfilled by the heroes of our righteous culture, which of course is ‘superior’ to all other cultures of mankind, whatever ours is.
We call that way of doing history, tribal myth, and it happens in all cultures. For example, the Japanese folk will tell you and in fact they teach still they myth in schools, the legend of Amaterasu and the first emperor son of God, the sun. The first emperor though was a Korean tribal warrior, which brought to Japan two new weapons, horses and iron, and submitted the local population. But the Japanese are competing with Korea and have erased from their text books the origin of their ‘son-god’.
In the Japanese example we observe a fundamental tenant of tribal history which is absolute subjectivity: to believe that the tribe is the center of the world or even the Universe (as God is obviously the mind that created it).
This can be expanded of course to almost all ‘tribes’ of the past: the goths=germans come in history as ‘gods=goths’, the tribe of god, the jewish come in history as ‘chosen of god’, the rulers of all classic nations are ‘sons of God’, like Ramshes (Son of Ra, god of the Egyptians), Assurbanipal (Son of Asur, God of the Assirians). And so little can be said of tribal history except that it is completely subjective, as ‘God’ is indeed a big name and once we confuse ‘religion and war’ war becomes holy and unavoidable.
And yet it is precisely this astounding arrogance of human beings, who can’t help to make war and reproduce weapons to come on ‘top’ of other people, paradoxically the basis for the cyclical patterns to find a science of history explained in this web.
In that regard, a science of History and economics with predictable power exists, because in History there is a rhythm of evolution of weapons of 720-800 years that destroy civilizations, a shorter decametric generational cycle of 72-80 years that has accelerated the process with the arrival of economic nations and a short product cycle of 7-8. Those cycles form a classic triad of long, medium and short waves of history and economics, which this author has tabulated, exhaustively explored for all civilizations and cultures of mankind and the reader can find in an orderly, more scholar manner in the book and in the left sides of this post in a more personal, blogged description. That rhythm ends invariably with an explosion of civilizations in a war, produced by the massive re=production of weapons which the rulingcastes of the society, warriors and go(l)d traders keep multiplying against the advice of historians of the future, prophets of the wor(l)d that know sooner or latter weapons will bring death.We thus call those 2 products that destroy civilizations, both made of metal, (informative metal=gold=money and energetic metal = weapon = iron and then more complex forms of metal and organic machines), the ‘selfishmemes’; because they kill mankind and are carried by ‘selfish tribal histories. And we call those who reproduce them as people-castes that control civilizations, ‘animetals’=animal+metal, because they lower their human perception of social love and are guided by greed and violence, the hidden values of the selfish memes.
Thus, at the end of each of those 800 cycles, today reduced to 80 year cycles of economical world wars (1860s=train wars, 1940=tank wars, 2020s=robotic wars?), takes place.Yet in America unfortunately the censorship of certain facts and any social model of history and economics such as the economical and tribal, selfish nature of war are so essential to the workings of power that not even university scholars try to advance the models, which all sciences requires to fit data and anticipate the future of the species they study – so we call astronomy a science and not astrology because Kepler found the repetitive cycles that allow us to anticipate the position of planets and stars. This is what you will find in this web and book: a predictable model of history and economics, which uses the true facts of history and fits them into a science, which has proved his accuracy since its inception 20 years ago, by being the only model able to predict the facts of today’s history two decades in advance, from the ascent of China, to the 2008 crisis, to the corruption of the American Democracy in a neo-fascist, militaristic state or the increasing degradation and obsolescence of the human being to the competing machines of the III industrial r=evolution. Yet this astounding fact, which is the basis of a cyclical science of history immediately brings the second theme of this web: we cannot be only scientists of history on view that the cycles of history are destructive of life but we must strive to convince politicians, bankers and technocrats that they have to limit the evolution of weapons and end the cycle.That is history unavoidably has always two sides, the intellectual and the ethical.
And both come to a fundamental simple question: it is history programmed to keep evolving weapons within the limits of tribal history till we all die? Or can tribal history and its selfish memes be cured and mankind come together as a single species and survive? Which of course brings the ethical question: the fight between the right selfless memes of history that follow the laws of Darwin (survival of the species) and the wrong selfish memes of history, weapons, money that reproduces them and books and ideologies of tribal history that justify its use. So the first question in a science of history needed to respond our search is: why humans break the natural law of biological evolution, the law of the survival of species and kill each other?
Complexity applied to tribal history: the laws of love vs. the laws of hate.
How it is possible that rational beings believe such a thing, is a theme studied in my webs of complexity and in essence is due to a characteristic of all sensory beings who perceive reality from their point of view, and so they think to be the center of the Universe, when they are simply an infinitesimal mirror of reality.
This Copernican paradox is at the basis of the Fractal paradigm that is solving the last questions abut the meaning of the Universe.
Essentially you exist in a Universe of ‘knots of information’ that gauge reality in different scales, from atoms to humans, those points of view acquire information from their selfish perspective, absorb energy for their bodies and information for their minds and ‘exist’ trying to reproduce their form to become ‘immortal’, beyond the limited time span of all forms. So ‘greed’, the desire to have more energy and information is natural to all complex systems. Even quarks and electrons absorb energy and reproduce new quarks and electrons.
And so you are part of a Universal game of existence, in which all systems fight for energy and information against other systems.
But the Universe is paradoxical and so while systems fight in Darwinian struggles to absorb other systems, there is a law of eusocial love, according to which systems which are self-similar evolve into bigger forms. So atoms evolve in networks and become molecules, and DNA molecules come together, creating cells and cells with the same DNA come together into humans and humans with the same language and code of information come together into nations and religions.
What this means to tribal history is quite clear: in the same manner cells with different DNA reject each other, tribes with different religious codes and languages feel they are not from the same species and fight in unending wars. However, because you are a Copernican ego’, who thinks to be as Copernicus thought of the Earth, the center of the Universe, you tend to feel different from others, you are naturally subjective, you feel your point of view, your mind, mirror of the Universe to be unique. this also applies to the subconscious collective we call cultures, in which a series of ‘memes’ tell people to be different.
As a result, even if we all humans should love each other as members of the same species, which biologically is defined as all individuals who can reproduce together, as we all humans do, it is common in history to find ‘cultures’ with a very limited perception of reality, who are racist, and feel different from other humans, either because they are ‘primitive’, and conserve ‘sacred texts’ of a pre-scientific age (racist religions, like the ones explained in the Vedas and the Talmud, two books with near 3000 years of age), or because they are isolated and feel different (insular people like Japanese or British, notorious by their racism).
And so we have now a scientific explanation of why for example, Jewish zealots who study Talmud are at the forefront of abuses against Islamic people in Israel or why fundamentalist Christians of the GOP, who believe in the racist myths of Ham of the bible think ‘negros’ to be inferior; and we can understand why those who consider instead of the ‘primitive bible’, the reform of the gospel as the truth of mankind, accept all humans as equal and follow the positive laws of creation of harmonic, social organisms. Those are Laws of complexity which apply to all systems from atoms to cells to human beings or animals in the prairie.
And yet because perception is all, the law can be cheated with ‘strategies’ of equality (camouflage that brings a different species to you till it becomes your victim) or can strain relationships between equal people if their mind is different (the topic generational gap that breaks genetic love between father and son).
So memes do exist and create social organisms in which self-similar minds with the same beliefs act together in synchronicity as biological organisms do, when they have the same DNA code in all its cells.
And this simple concept - the existence of memes, which are material objects (weapons, money, machines) and verbal ideologies (religious and legal codes), which are repeated generation after generation, carrying the ‘form’, the ‘information’ of history, as genes carry the information of organisms – becomes the foundation of a biological science of history, as genes are the foundation of the science of biological life.
It couldn’t be otherwise, since we are part of the biological world and the Universe has an arrow of time, called social evolution that has evolved atoms into molecules into cells into organisms into super-organisms (societies).
Let us then consider in this web a brief analysis of the structure of those superorganisms of history, and then, as we explain its evolution, the new reality that appeared on this planet in the XVIII century, just a few ‘seconds’ in terms of this planet time: the creation of a different superorganism, not based as the superorganisms of history in the natural language of man, words, and its carriers, human beings, who became part of ‘gods’ and ‘cultures’, but in a new species of ‘metal’, the machine and its natural language of design and information – mathematics.
Because indeed, regardless of the wishful blindness of mankind converted to the ‘tree of science’, the engine of history has always been the same between the cultures of the tree of life built with human cells and verbal, ethic minds, and the cultures of the ‘tree of metal’ and its fruits, golden apples (money), bad ones (weapons) and good fruits to which we become addicted (machines that enhance our organs of energy – cars, weapons – or information – chips, cameras, etc.)
II. THE AGE OF GAIA: SUSTAINABLE HUMAN SUPERORGANISMS
Planetary ecosystems and organisms
Bio-History studies mankind as a social organism, that requires to survive healthy energy networks, and sound verbal information. Biohistory is based in the laws of Social Organisms, and the facts of history, studying nations, small bodies of history, and mankind, under the natural laws, that create healthy organisms of history.
The Earth is the “vital-space”, the “body”, where human social organisms evolve. On the Earth, there has been till date 3 social ecosystems, the first to appear, “Nature”, was based in carbolife; then History appeared, based in human life, and finally the social ecosystem of Economics has been evolved based in metal-species, money, weapons and machines. Since those 3 organic systems, and species have been dominant in 3 different ages of the Earth, we can talk in fact of a mutation of the Earth’s ecosystem, from the “Life-earth”, to the “Human-earth”, to the “metal Earth”. If we study each of those 3 stages of the Earth, as a global organic ecosystem, we can easily define the ecosystems of the Earth’s crust in organic terms, since each ecosystem has created different “networks of energy and information”, to cater to those species.
In that sense we can compare a human individual organism, to a collective social organism, a nation or a civilization. What those two Universal organic systems have in common? If you see the graph above, what defines both systems as organisms or organizations, are a series of common elements, so similar to individual humans and human societies that permit to study cultures and civilizations with organic laws.Let us to that aim, understand first the generic structure of a social organism. In fact there are four basic elements in all organic living systems:
1. Cellular units. Which are cells in a human body, citizens in a human society.
2. Networks of energy or vital space. Which is the blood system in a human body, and the networks of transportation in a society, rivers, roads…
3. Networks of information. Which is the nervous system that organizes cells in a body, or the verbal/visual information that organizes human societies through laws, ethics and art.
4. Networks that reproduce energy and information. Sexual systems in individuals. In a society they are economical networks, that reproduce the object of societies, and cultural customs that define the ways in which humans reproduce themselves.
When we find those elements interconnected in a vital relationship, we talk of an “organic system”. We can see such organic systems as “bodies”, when all the cells are very close to each other, or as herds, when the cells are far away, and the networks are weak. However, we should not be cheated by the spatial appearance of the organism, but study the physiological functions of those networks and how they define societies, the roles of individuals in those societies, and their structure.
A herd of machines, a herd of insects, a human group is also an organic system, because it has cells, and networks, even if it does not seem to us a body.
What is bio-history.
Bio-History is based in the laws of social organisms and The Laws of social evolution that explain how individuals of any size or species grow and evolve into macro-social organisms that efficiently distribute energy and information to the different cells of the organic society.
So if we define a human organism as a population of RNA/DNA cells, related by networks of nervous information and networks of energy-providing blood. In the same manner we can define a historic organism, as a a social group of humans related by networks of carbolife energy, or human goods, and human information or verbal/visual art and laws.
Each “social cell” of such ecosystems, each animal of a herd, each man of a village, has a vital space, his home, property and agricultural fields, or a territory, in which the animal will feed, reproduce and communicate. The common networks of energy of those organisms are the “river veins” of the Earth. The common, main network of information is the “light-rays” that inform all the cells of an ecosystem, of a nation, of the living planet.
In that sense we can talk of the entire planet Earth as a living organism that host the social organism of mankind, called History. Biologists call today such Natural organism, “Gaia”, the living Earth. And in that sense we can define a Macro cosmic human Organism as a Social Ecosystem composed of human beings, carbolife energy, and verbal and visual networks of information based in the human mind (visual arts, and verbal thought, religions, laws, and literature):
Such ecosystems are like “loose organisms” where around water-energy veins, “cells” of human life live and survive, centered in their homes as DNA molecules survive in the home-cells of a body. To do so they need to create a natural environment, in which human food (carbolife food) can be collected, where every cell has basic human property (homes, home products, clothing); where the networks of social information based in verbal thought (laws, ethics), can run all cells and solve colliding interests. Where a collective brain (government) solves those social problems, and encourages a healthy social body, promoting human goods, organizing the “social movements of the cell”, to that aim, and promoting collective goods (health-care, education, verbal learning, arts). All those conditions create a healthy organism of history as the create a healthy individual organism:
Words are therefore the “informative networks” that organizes communities of human beings, gathered around “water veins”, into the first social organisms of mankind, the river civilizations.
Thus a healthy historic society is a social organism is made of human citizens, ruled by networks of verbal information, laws, ethic systems, etc. The law is indeed the verbal nervous system of the human society. Legal mandates control the life and death of human cells, motivate or forbid certain actions, and through those actions mobilize the social body and control the human ecosystem.
Without laws we cannot understand historic organisms. Laws rule in an invisible manner the acts of people, forbidding certain acts and encouraging others. In this manner as the nervous orders of the brain guide the cells of the body, and move it at pleasure, the law designs the acts of people and controls society. In this way we can also talk of certain humans, verbal masters, who create laws, as the neuron-brains that create the nervous orders. Who are they? Religious prophets and priests, lawyers, and kings who gave law, courts and parliaments who give law today. They hold the power of societies. They are the brain of social systems. Hence the importance of politics to rule properly a human organism. We can then easily establish the elements of a human social, historic organism, that has controlled mankind for 99% of our existence, in harmony with nature and the organic laws of the Universe:
Individual cells: Human beings.
Networks of information: ethic and politic laws.
Networks of energy: Systems of reproduction of basic goods, food, farming, cattle-ranching, hunting, creation of simple tools.
We call each of those systems, a culture or civilization; i.e., a mass of human beings, ruled by networks of legal information (political and religious institution) and networks of reproduction of vital energy (property, economical goods, food).
Cultures and civilizations are the biggest organisms of History. They have grown through an entire scale of historic organisms, from simple genetic organisms (racial tribes in which words were still secondary to genetic information) to religious organisms based totally in word-networks (Christian, Buddhist, Muslim civilizations) where each believer is a cell of an organic system, where the informative network is the church and the books of revelation.
The physiological order of evolved organisms. The role of politicians andeconomists in a society
Political laws and economical systems that produce human-goods needed for man to survive, and behave socially in a harmonic way, are in that sense the two basic networks that regulate the health of a human society. Their importance is of course enormous, because those two systems, rule the life and death of human beings….
The vision of a nation that a bio-economist or bio-historian has is very much that of a doctor, who sees the body of a human being, as a collection of individual cells (human beings in history), joined by two basic networks, the blood network of energy -the economic network- and the nervous network of information, the legal orders that society obey. When those two networks are healthy, all the cells of your body receive energy-food and proper information, and survive.
A bio-historian sees his nation in a similar way: as a social organism, that politicians -the informative brain of laws- and industrialists -the blood system of goods- have to keep healthy, providing the proper energy and information to all the social cells, to avoid their collapse and death by the main sickness of historic organisms: war, poverty and ignorance. To him poverty and ignorance (lack of human energy and information) are anti-natural, a symptom of physiological sickness in those two organic systems. A sign of corrupted laws, and a corrupted system of credit that both reproduce lethal goods, which the body-cells do not require, such as weapons, and limit credit and production ofhuman goods, that cells need (education, food, housing, etc.)
Why our social organisms are not healthy: informative networks (laws) should control energy networks (economies).
The scale of social order in the Universe is perhaps the most amazing prove that our metaphor of mankind as a Universal organism, is real. Since social evolution it is the natural law that organizes herds of beings in the Universe. From galaxies to atoms, from leaves to cells, from humans to worms, social organisms are gatherings of individual cells joined by informative and energetic systems. However some of those systems are better organized than others. Those who are better survive longer. Among animal beings the best organism is the mammal, in which the nervous system controls the blood system, in which the political law -we might say- controls the excesses of the economical system that delivers energy to our citizens/cells.
While the analogy of an individual human being and his territorial home and a DNA strain and its cellular territory is easy to grasp, you have to meditate a little bit on human societies, to understand the “physiological parallelism” between the energy/information networks of highly evolved mammal organisms and the networks of cultures and nations, of social organisms.
The information networks of societies are made of our languages of information, which are our words, and our laws, that inform and control the behavior of people. A healthy nation, is one which has as a healthy body does, an informative, nervous-legal system that is just, that carries information to all cells, and it obliges the blood-economic system to deliver human goods to all cells. A system that is also dynamic, that can be corrected when it gives wrong orders that hurt certain cells, and it can be evolved when its laws and constitution are not fit to survive in the ever changing environment in which the organism lives… This is what a mammal system shows. Unlike a primitive worm without nervous evolution, ruled by blood flows, a complex society has informative laws to regulate the economical/blood system.
Unfortunately most of our national systems have not arrived to that degree of evolution. In most of them, the legal systems, the “Constitution” of the social body is fixed, and has not evolved for centuries. While the blood-energy system, the economic system, dominates over the nervous-legal system, as it happens in the most primitive species of animal life… Such Blood-based systems are unable to optimize resources, and distribute efficiently food to their cells, provoking bottle necks, and lack of“human goods”. Such blood-based systems, without the intelligence, and control the nervous system provides, carry all kind of products to their cells, including germs and poisonous products, lethal products, made mainly of metal, which destroy social civilizations by means of war, as metal atoms (mercury, cobalt, radiation) poisons individual human organisms. So our social organisms ill-designed are easy prey of “external germs”, metal-products that carried by“sick human beings” enter the social organism and exterminate the cells,reproducing their germ-goods as cells reproduce the virus that infect the body.
Further on without a proper nervous system, there is no way the cells can communicate to the brain his wantings and desires… Feed back is important in all organisms that work. If the cells, subject to erroneous laws and nervous messages, coming from the blood-economy could not complain and feed back the brain, when they lacked energy and information, the organism could be endangered.
A good healthy legal system, should be built on those basis. It should be dynamic, (without fixed constitutions) and easy to change when it hurts the people of the organic nation. It should strive to keep the order between the cells of the body, at the same time that it permits and encourages the distribution of energy and information among all of them. Who should be the master cells of such organism, the blood-market, or the political system? Obviously those who emitted the information, the laws, the nervous impulses that control and harmonize the cells of the body, the politicians.
Indeed, only very primitive social organisms, give to the blood system [as we do in our primitive free-market societies] higher rights in the guidance of the social organism, that to the informative centers… On that view two are the sickness of our Modern social organisms, which explains our social sickness, war, poverty, excess of legal goods, and sickness/pollution of our body/Earth:
- Politicians do not accomplish his role as brains of societies. Politicians, as the privileged makers of laws, are special cells of a society. Yet they owe themselves to the citizens they control, and they should also be punished and judged, and suffer when the people suffered, as it happens with the neurons of the brain. Otherwise when the organism goes wrong, if the brain cells could not feel the pain, they won’t correct the errors, and the organism becomes sick. How to achieve that feed-back control of politicians? This is a problem of democratic societies, never solved properly that explains why our nations do not run so well as our bodies. Imagine that you step on a burning iron, and your brain does not notice. Your foot will burn, your feet cells will die, and you won’t be able to move.
- Markets, the blood-systems that reproduce the energy elements of the organism, have an excess of power, and they reproduce lethal goods that kill instead of feeding the cells of our societies.
In a healthy organism of history markets should be submissive to the legal-informative systems that design the organism to cater the needs of all human cells. A healthy social organism has a form, a “constitution”, designed by the nervous-conscious system, to which the market should adapt. Only very primitive organisms on the first stages of evolution gave their blood-systems total Freedom, to carry any goods they could capture and reproduce. The existence of a nervous system permits to differentiate between “positive goods”, that do not harm the organism, and “poisons”, lethal good such as weapons, or the incoming robotic revolution, that can be potential germs that kill the organism.
We call such sick social organisms ruled by markets and company-mothers, instead of legal systems, economic ecosystems. Of which the paradigm is modern America. Such systems no longer cater the needs of all cells of societies (healthy democracies) but the need of a few citizens and company-mothers that rule the organism with money.
It is indeed clear, that in all organisms -big or small, made of cells, or human individuals- each member of the organism should have according to the “natural law of organisms”, food and proper information to survive. So the nervous-legal system should create the “constitutional frame” and laws, for such things to happen. After all every single cell of a healthy body receives from its energy-blood system, and its nervous-information system, a minimum quantity of those two precious goods needed to survive. Or else the body falls sick, and the entire organism suffers. However human beings lack those minimal goods in present societies, because our economic ecosystem is geared to produce not the goods human beings need, but the goods machines need; electricity instead of food, digital information instead of verbal knowledge; factories to reproduce machines instead of houses and hospital… The result is that
Economic ecosystems give higher power to machines and company-mothers than to human beings.
Machines and carbonlife species often compete for limited resources, in economic ecosystems. For example, when railroads – bodies of metal – came; they competed as systems of transportation with horses – bodies of carbolife – which became obsolete and were eliminated from the economic ecosystem in massive numbers.
This approach means a fundamental advance for economical and historic sciences:
We can now expand the concept of organisms fighting for energy ad information to survive, beyond the carbonlife kingdom, to the world of ‘metal-organisms’, of machines. We can describe machines no longer in abstract, but in vital terms, and understand much better the ‘real relationships of symbiotism and preying’ that machines, nature, and human beings have established throughout history. Till now those relationships had been hidden by abstract economical formulas that missed fundamental facts of modern history, such as the ‘massive extinction of Nature’ caused by industrial processes of reproduction of machines symbiotic to men; or the creation of networks of energy and information, based in such ‘organic machines’, and their effects on human bodies and minds.
We can indeed talk since the Evolution of Machines started in the XVIII century of two Earth’s ecosystems.
-The carbonlife ecosystem, that men ruled as top predators of nature, for 2 million years.
-The Industrial ecosystem, based in metal-machines, which need different energy and information, and often compete for vital space, with species of the ecosystem of nature.
Machines do compete with life. Machines and company-mothers, who ‘reproduce them’ and take care of ‘the networks of energy and information of machines’ have displaced natural environments and created industrial ecosystems. Forests, horses, and wild life are today substituted by networks of roads and cars…
In that sense it is obvious that since the arrival of science, and companies, reproducers of machines, the Human Earth, the ecosystem of human organisms ruled by artistic, verbal and visual information, has radically changed. Today verbal networks of information are secondary to monetary and digital networks, and networks of human energy [agricultural fields, rivers and other natural ways of communication] have been substituted by energy networks that feed machines, or allow those machines to move around the Earth (roads, pipes, electricity lines).
It is clear that the ecosystem of the Earth has changed radically, and social, historic organisms have mutated, from networks of energy and information belonging to the natural, biological languages of mankind (artistic and verbal networks, carbolife energy and nature), to networks of energy and information composed of metallic species, either money, or “metal-minds” (TV, internet networks). For that reason we say that the Earth is “changing”, “mutating” from a “soft Earth”, made of carbolife networks, to a “hard Earth”, made of machines and human beings.
The process means an entire terraforming of the Earth, caused by the machines science has invented. It implies the arrival of new organic forms, machines and economic nations, ruled by metal-networks. We talk of a new planetary Organism, the Metal-earth, which is poisoning, and extinguishing the superorganism of human history. Why is happening that? Because we men have been able to construct a well-working, functional, healthy organism ofGlobal history. The consequence of our ill-designed social organisms, is that the organism of machines, the economic organism prey over the human superorganism.
